Transforming RV takes Cybertruck camping from ghastly to glorious
Nothing about the Tesla Cybertruck (or the pickup campers built for it) has made it look like a particularly inviting camping vehicle. After famously awful first impressions, Elon's tent debacle didn't help. It seems like we'll have to wait for trailer builders to step outside the pickup box (prism) for a better Cyber-camping experience. Living Vehicle's Cybertrailer, for example, looks like a downright pleasant place to base camp, if you can even call it camping so much as luxury apartment-like mobile living.
Someone’s designed a caravan to hitch to the Tesla Cybertruck
Living Vehicle’s CyberTrailer attaches to the bold Cybertruck so you can avoid paying council tax forever. The 'CyberTrailer' itself is all-electric, with power-assisted axles so the thing doesn’t rinse the battery of the tow vehicle and/or deplete its range across rougher terrain.
The LV CyberTrailer Brings 6-in-1 Functionality, Luxury, and Outstanding Autonomy
Since November 2019, when the Cybertruck was first presented to the public, we've seen more than a fair share of Cybertruck-ready RV products, but the CyberTrailer is the only one to actually come to fruition. It's also, so far, the only one delivering performance, autonomy, and style to match the e-truck.
The Living Vehicle GT39 is a sustainable, chic and luxurious off-grid home designed with comfort and quality in mind to help reshape perceptions of mobile homes and trailer living. The home is characterized by its ultra-chic interior that features all the amenities of a luxury home albeit in a decidedly smaller manner. The home boasts eight-foot ceilings to help it feel larger and airier than it is, while premium finishings like hardwood flooring, powder-coated aluminum cabinets and more give it an authentic home feeling.
Living Vehicle GT39 Rival’s Interiors of Luxury Yachts, Offers Freedom of Off-Grid Living on the Road
Before the pandemic, we lived in a generously simple world with mobile homes catering to the bare minimum needs on the road. A bedroom, convertible living room, kitchenette, dry bathroom, and that was almost it. Most of the interior was paneled with wood and the exterior was done in aluminum for durability. Now, with the likes of Living Vehicle, a Santa Barbara, CA-based boutique travel trailer builder – that has been marrying luxury and sustainability over the years – is redefining the word: luxury mobile living with the new GT series.
Living Vehicle’s Solar-Powered GT39 Trailer Features Yacht-Like Luxury
when it comes to mobile homes, the Living Vehicle GT39 may actually live up to its boastful billing. The Santa Barbara-based startup designs sustainable luxury vehicles that serve as “high-end mobile living solutions for a nomadic lifestyle,” and their newly launched fifth wheel is their top-of-the-line offering.
You've heard about the CyberTruck. What about the CyberTrailer?
In his review, Kurt Knutsson shared his thoughts on the impact of the CyberTrailer, stating, "The CyberTrailer represents a harmonious blend of sustainability, cutting-edge technology, luxury, and adventure. For EV enthusiasts, it's a dream come true. For off-grid adventurers, it's the ultimate enabler. And for those who simply refuse to compromise on comfort while exploring the great outdoors, it's nothing short of revolutionary." He acknowledged that while the CyberTrailer is positioned as a luxury RV, it offers "a level of freedom, comfort, and sustainability that's unmatched in the RV world"—making it a worthy investment for those seeking an unparalleled off-grid experience.
Living Vehicle CyberTrailer is Real Partner for Your CyberTruck, CEO Hofmann Confirms
Hofmann’s innovative approach to off-grid, sustainable living has garnered significant attention globally since the company’s inception in 2017. But in May this year, he and Living Vehicle added another feather to their cap. Living Vehicle announced the arrival of CyberTrailer. The towable trailer has a design inspired by Tesla CyberTruck and is packed with features never seen before in a camping trailer. I recently had the pleasure of speaking with Matthew Hofmann about the company’s latest innovations and plans. Here is what he had to say.
The New $175K Living Vehicle CyberTrailer Matches With The Tesla Cybertruck
The trailer is 100 percent solar powered, with a water supply that uses air creation and recycling for maximum sustainability, wireless controls via an iPad, and a folding patio, allowing adventurers to experience and enjoy the outdoors to the fullest. If the CyberTrailer is towed by a Tesla Cybertruck, it matches seamlessly with the Cybertruck’s design. Still, the CyberTrailer is compatible with the Ford F-150 and Rivian tow vehicles and gas and diesel tow vehicles. At the same time, the CyberTrailer does boast the perk of electric tow vehicle charging.
Tesla's Cybertruck can't tow just any camper. Living Camper is bringing its expertise in high-end campers to the CyberTrailer, a dual-axle camper with angular styling that fits the Cybertruck theme perfectly. The CyberTrailer draws power from a rooftop solar array and can act as a charging station and can even recharge the towing vehicle, although Living Vehicle hasn't released details on battery capacity or generation. The CyberTrailer also isn't limited to the Cybertruck, with gas-powered or other EV trucks like the F-150 Lightning or Rivian R1T being just as suitable — although not as well matched aesthetically. Living Vehicle plans to start deliveries of the CyberTrailer in 2025, with reservations available for a refundable $100 deposit.
Is This Tesla Cybertruck-Inspired Trailer the Ultimate Camper for Your Cyberbeast?
While it may be polarizing, there is no denying that the 2024 Tesla Cybertruck gathers attention for its unique look. Being a pickup, people expect it to tow—and being a Tesla, people expect it to be quick doing it. The Cybertruck can tow, there's no question about that, and it's certainly quick while doing it. But what camping trailer matches its uniquely angular appearance? Living Vehicle—a luxury camper manufacturer—took one look at the Cybertruck and decided that’s exactly the type of RV trailer it needed. This is the CyberTrailer, and its looks are sure to be as controversial as its namesake.
Meet the ‘CyberTrailer’: Brutalist Camper and Tow-Behind Charging Station for Electric Trucks
Reduce “range anxiety,” extend your off-grid adventure, and make your own water from thin air — the CyberTrailer embodies the best of what Living Offers in an unmistakable aesthetic. The CyberTrailer serves double duty as a pull-behind camper and mobile charging for electric vehicles. And while its design undoubtedly draws from the Cybertruck, it can be towed by the F-150 Lightning, Rivian R1-T, or any conventional gas or diesel half-ton truck.
Tesla’s Cybertruck Inspired This New Solar-Powered Trailer
Living Vehicle, one of the most consistently impressive RV makers around, has just unveiled its latest model, the CyberTrailer. The new caravan has a design inspired by Tesla’s controversial pickup and several features sure to catch the attention of outdoor-loving EV owners. The most eye-catching feature isn’t the CyberTrailer’s head-turning design. Instead, it’s the vehicle’s solar-aided power system. Most RVs rely on shore power to run once you get to the campground, but not the Cybertrailer.

LV Energy Calculator
Select the desired equipment to estimate the off-grid run time and compare Living Vehicle models. Solar power is based on an average of 5 hours of full sun per day.
*Calculations are estimates based on average appliance usage and best practices in extending stored energy. Assumptions include 90-deg F continuous temperature, washer/dishwasher use spread throughout the week, and very high GHI solar conditions (https://www.nrel.gov/gis/solar.html). This calculator is intended as a helpful resource to understand the impact of appliance use and solar charging on runtimes only. These calculations are not a guarantee of performance of our energy system as there are too many variables in usage of the system and weather/environmental conditions to predict or assure any results.
